Spring in Japan isn’t just about flowers and skiiing, there are many special festivals too. One of the most famous festival is Hinamatsuri, or Doll’s day/girls day (雛祭り). This is celebrated on the 3rd of March every year. The festival is centred around praying for the happiness and healthy growth of girls. These dolls, dressed in traditional court attire of the Heian period, represent a traditional wedding ceremony.
